Dawgs Bantam Black team repeats as Bantam Best of the West Champions by beating the White Rock Tritons by a score of 12-2. The Dawgs had a stellar weekend outscoring opponents by a score of 51 to 16. Brendan Dranchuk went off as he ended up 11 for 14 on the weekend with 8 extra base hits. As a result of the great weekend Dranchuk was named MVP of the tournament. Peter Hutzal started for the Dawgs and went 3 strong and handed the ball off to Nick Vickers who completed the mercy rule shortened game. Congrats to Bantam Black team!
The Academy Black team lost a tough one in the final of the Best of the West. Langley beat the Dawgs 5-3 to deny them of the championship. Jake Shaw pitched well to start and the Dawgs scratched and clawed but couldn't get a big hit to break it open. Alejo Lopez and Chris Shaw let the way offensively.
The Bantam Red team lost an extra inning affair in the consolation game as they lost in the 10th inning. Alex Krochak highlighted the game with a monster home run. The Academy Red team was rained out of their semifinal game and came to watch the Black teams and Bantams play for their championships. Thanks for the support! Overall an outstanding weekend as the program went 13-6 with great showing at every tournament. Looks to be a great year for the Dawgs.
