The Okotoks Dawgs traveled to Medicine Hat today to take on the Mavericks in a battle for first place in the Western Division. The Dawgs came out fast, but Medicine Hat came back and won the game 9-7.
Bret Derooy had a strong start for the Dawgs throwing 6 solid innings, but with the Mavericks scoring late it resulted in a no decision.
Jerod Bartnik had 2 big hits in the game but the offense couldn’t come through late after they gave up the lead in the 7th.
This ends the team's winning streak at 10 games it also moves Medicine Hat into first place in the division. The Dawgs have tomorrow off before heading to Regina on Wednesday to take on the Red Sox who have the best record in the WMBL.
