The Dawgs propelled themselves into a tie for Western division supremacy with a 13-8 victory over the Bulls last night at Spitz Stadium. A five-run sixth inning, capped off by a Matt Lloyd double to left field put Okotoks in the driver's seat the rest of the way. The base-knock gave Lloyd his third straight multi-hit game, while Jayse McLean’s fourth home run of the season put the contest out of reach. All nine starters chipped in with at least one hit, helping the Dawgs hold off a late surge from Lethbridge.
SPITZ-ING OUT HOME RUNS
Over the course of the campaign, McLean has registered four home runs to his name -- all of them coming against Lethbridge at Spitz Stadium. He hit three to right field June 14, while going opposite field with his blast a night ago.
For the first time this season, all nine batters registered a hit a night ago in Lethbridge. Leading the pack was Matt Lloyd with three hits and three RBI, bolstering his average to .373. Cameron Campbell also recorded three hits while three other Dawgs had two.
