The Okotoks Dawgs (26-11) head to Melville for a two-game set against the (11-27) Millionaires today, July 20. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.
The Dawgs stayed perfect on their Saskatchewan road trip, sweeping the series against the Yorkton Cardinals and taking game two, 14-5. A five-run second inning, highlighted by Ryan Humeniuk’s first home run of the season paved the way to victory. The Okotoks product finished the contest with four RBI. Behind him, Matt Lloyd extended his hitting streak to 17 games with his sixth home run of the campaign before his former Iowa Western teammate, Zach Hanna barrelled his second of 2017 over the wall. Greg Cullen finished the night a home run shy of the cycle, collecting a season-high four hits.
The 35 home runs the Dawgs have hit as a team are the most since their inception into the league in 2007 -- with 10 games remaining. In 2011, the red and white clubbed 32 overall. Kody Funderburk continues to put himself into Dawgs record books, belting a league-leading 12, while Lloyd and Jayse McLean both have six.
