The Okotoks Dawgs host the Edmonton Prospects tonight, August 2, in game two of the WMBL playoffs. They hold a 1-0 series lead. First pitch flies at 7:05pm.
In game one of the WMBL playoffs, the Dawgs didn’t miss a beat with a 8-2 victory over the Prospects at Seaman Stadium. The game was called following 4.5 innings due to an unplayable field and wet conditions. Anthony Balderas won his first start of the postseason, tossing five strong innings, limiting the Prospects to two runs and fanning five. Greg Cullen earned himself a multi-hit night in the shortened, five inning game, while Matt Lloyd drove home three.
Carrying over from the regular season, the Dawgs have scored in the first inning in four consecutive games. Dating back to July 28, Okotoks has plated 13 runs over that span.
